| | The NHL players are auding their own league. The NHL Players Association has recently hired expert accountant Bob Lindquist to conduct an audit on where all the earnings of the NHL go. The NHL welcomes this scheme, saying that it is to maximize transparency in the league as well as to harmonize more the relationship between the league and its players. |

| | After quitting the Plymouth Whalers as its assistant coach in 1998, Greg Stefan is now back into its fold as the head coach. Stefan replaces Mike Vellucci, who has been promoted to governor, president and general manager of the Whalers and Compuware Arena. ''I’ve worked closely with Greg for a long time and he has been loyal to the organization,'' Vellucci said. ''He deserves this opportunity to become a head coach. I am confident he will develop our players for the next level and continue our winning tradition. He knows what it takes to make it to the National Hockey League, both as a player and a coach.'' |

And December 26, 2007 will be an eventful Boxing Day for the world of hockey in Canada because on this day, the World Junior Championships will be played out in the Czech Republic and Hockey Canada will be sending a team there. Considering the Canadians' natural craving for hockey, they will hang on to their breaths as their compatriots vie for their beloved country.
